In a brazen daylight attack, an unknown man standing in the middle of W35th Street pelted Midtown South Precinct with rocks, shattering the front doors of the NYPD stationhouse in what police described as “criminal mischief”.

The incident happened at approximately 7:40am on Thursday morning at the precinct at 357 W35th Street between 8/9th Avenues.

Police described the individual as a male with a dark complexion, wearing a black coat, brown hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

He fled east on foot after the attack towards 8th Avenue. Police said that there was still no arrest at this time, the investigation is still ongoing and no injuries occurred. 

Midtown South Precinct is one of three NYPD patrols covering Hell’s Kitchen. Its area is south and east of the corner of 9th Avenue and W45th Street. 

Earlier this week, the front window of Georgian restaurant Cheeseboat at 757 9th Avenue was shattered during a break-in.

  1. The city is out control and no one seems to be actually doing something about it. Maybe the mayor could form a task force to begin to figure put what to do. Police (just look at this story) and national guard don’t seem to be an answer.
