When you’re asked to sell an apartment belonging to Carole Shelley, star of stage, screen and TV versions of New York comedy The Odd Couple, who died in 2018, what you gonna do to make it stand out from the crowd?
Listings brokers Mark D. Friedman and Richard Rosenthal, of Brown Harris Stevens
came up with a plan – and the resulting video is hilarious! If there were Oscars for apartment showing, they’d be runaway winners…
The co-op, on the 14th floor of the Parc Vendôme building at 340 W. 57th Street, boasts many amenities – including a home office, wood-burning fireplace, 9ft high beamed ceilings, original oak-plank floors, and an original cast-iron deep tub. It’s on the market for $1.35m.
The property is being sold by Shelley’s English godson Mark Holden-Hindley, who has fond memories of visiting the actress with his mother, spending time at the apartment and seeing his godmother perform on stage.
“I was devoted to her and loved her dearly,” he told the New York Post. “She was a great part of my life, and I was so proud to visit her, be part of her life and see her on Broadway.”
