If you’ve not managed to dine under the bright lights of Times Square yet, you’ve been given a little more time. After a surge of business, most restaurants have extended their special Taste menus through the weekend until Sunday, November 1.
Taste of Times Square started last Friday and was originally slated to last a week. Locals can enjoy a three-course meal at 20 restaurants on Restaurant Row and throughout the Theater District for $35.
Part of the plaza at Times Square has been turned over to dining, with Tony’s Di Napoli providing the food. Their manager Ciro Heta said: “For our customers to come and see this is a great boost of confidence and morale.”
The organizers, Times Square Alliance, have brought in Hell’s Kitchen Happiness Krewe to provide musicians and artists for free performances each evening. “What better way to bring people together than food and music,” said Joe Papa from Times Square Alliance.
“This program was a great success and we are very thankful to the Times Square Alliance for inviting us to be part of it,” Dean Poll the owner of Gallaghers Steakhouse told us. “It has not only brought our friends and neighbors into Gallaghers, it has also helped to bring us all together as a community.“
“The promotion has been going well! We welcome guests, both new and familiar faces, to enjoy some of our most popular fare at a discounted price. Please join us all weekend long!” said Kiara Danielle from Hold Fast on Restaurant Row.
Nick Verses is looking forward to welcoming guests who want to take advantage of the Taste deal this weekend. He told us: “This is a taste for better times. We’ve been having success with the menu.”
Chef Paul Denamiel from Le Rivage told us: “You’ll never get a better deal to try my French Onion Soup Burger!” The award-winning burger (Onion confit, Emmenthal cheese, mornay sauce, Lafreida burger on an English muffin) is sandwiched between an appetizer of Quiche Lorraine and a dessert of chocolate mousse as part of his three-course special menu.
The confirmed list of those extending through the weekend is below. Check the TSQ.org/taste site for the most up-to-date information.
