Midtown resident Melvis Gimenez, 34, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault. The suspect allegedly slashed the face of a 28-year-old gas station employee at W51st Street and 11th Avenue at approximately 7:40pm on March 28.

Police told W42ST that the two had gotten into a dispute over payment methods. When the gas station employee attempted to get Gimenez to leave, he was slashed on the right side of his face by the suspect, who fled southbound on a motorcycle. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai West in stable condition. Officials released surveillance footage of a suspect before Giminez was apprehended.
