W42ST Daily 6/28/2020
Happy Pride Sunday. I hope you are going to find fun ways to celebrate 51 years since the Stonewall protests.
If it’s brunch, keep an eye on what’s new and happening with our “Hell’s Kitchen is OPEN2!” list. We update the list throughout the day as businesses and readers add #W42ST to their Instagram posts.
If you want to get up and moving, I’d recommend watching Quinn B Wharton’s latest dance video. You’ll remember when Ruth posted his Dirty Dancing moves a few weeks ago (one of our most popular click throughs!). Now, he’s given over his talents to Saturday Night Fever. Enjoy…

PRIDE — SPICE — IDENTITY
Fashion photographer Leandro Justen had a conservative, Catholic childhood in Brazil. He learned his first words of English from the Spice Girls. Was outed, then moved to the United States to play college volleyball. His journey as a photographer documenting the LGBTQ scene from drag queens to the Supreme Court, from parades to protests allowed him to get up close and personal with Melanie C, his favorite Spice, at PRIDE 50. It’s also helped him embrace his own identity and become an active campaigner. Read his story with amazing pictures here.

A PRIDE VIDEO FROM BRIANNE
From our friend and neighbor, Brianne Demmler: “As you know, due to Covid unfortunately Pride looks very different this year.. BUT, as you also know, Pride is with us all year long and we celebrate who we are each and every day! Since we can’t all be together for Pride this year with our favorite events and of course the Parade, I decided to gather a group of my favorite, most diverse, loving and extraordinary LGBTQIA people I call friends and make a PRIDE video! We hope to help young people especially, who are struggling with who they are. Would you check it out on my page and if you like it, sharing it in yours? We just want to spread the Love to as many people who need it as possible! You have such a wonderful following that could really help get this message out there!!! Thank You from the bottom of my heart! Xo”
