Happy St Patrick’s Day. I’d loved to be able to step back in time to see how it was celebrated in Hell’s Kitchen 100 years ago. If it fell on a Saturday when Paddy’s Market was in full flow, it must have been quite a scene.
The city is coming alive and today sees the opening up of some favorite restaurants and bars. VYNL’s greatest hits make a comeback on 9th Avenue this afternoon. They’re not quite getting the band back together, but the fabled diner’s favorite menu items are back at ‘ritas, B-Side Pizza and Hell’s Kitchen. Read more and reminisce…
It was great to see Governor Andrew Cuomo recognize the work of Chana Widawski and Bailey Sterling at the Hell’s Kitchen Free Store in his “Deep Breath Moment” last night.
My only disappointment is that his link was to the Patch follow-up of our story. I’m not bitter — but I will be writing to call for the Governor’s resignation later today 🤣
