Good morning. As I wrote the newsletter early today, I heard the siren and horn of an FDNY truck. It was a haunting memory of those who ran into the World Trade Center 20 years ago.

This morning, on W43rd Street (also named Terence S. Hatton Way) — firefighters at Rescue One will remember Captain Hatton and his colleagues who died on 9/11. Our local firehouse lost nearly half of its company that day.

Over at Intrepid Museum, the non-profit 9/11 Day is hosting a meal pack. More than 1,600 local volunteers are expected to come together and help pack 500,000 non-perishable meals for New Yorkers facing food insecurity.

At Ground Zero, President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama have arrived to join the families of the victims for the 9/11 memorial.

We hope you find your own way to mark this sad day — and take comfort that New Yorkers come together in adversity, they never forget and New York always comes back. #NeverForget

Hell’s Kitchen Park was taken over by Law & Order: SVU this week. We caught this moment during our lunchtime walk. Even though Kelli Giddish can be seen wielding a gun, locals were reassured by the film crew’s signage.
