Good morning and happy Tuesday. Did you see the orange moon last night — or spot the milky sky this morning? Apparently, New York is starting to get smoke in the upper atmosphere from the western wildfires. “It won’t dramatically impact air quality, but the sky may look a little milky and the sunrise and sunset may be enhanced,” according to ABC News.

We’re hitting your inbox early this morning, just in case you want to rush over to Times Square to watch Blue Origin and Jeff Bezos blast off into space on the big screens at 9am. If you are curious enough and/or geek enough, we will see you there…

For those more Broadway than Space Race, we have another local connection to TV comedy Schmigadoon. You might remember our story yesterday about special cookies from Schmackary’s. Today, we give you Sam Strasfeld, fitness instructor at Mark Fisher Fitness on W39th Street. If you’ve watched an episode, you might have spotted his bearded face amongst the dancers — and if not, you can see him front right in the picture below, alongside Kristin Chenoweth.
