Despite the rainy weather and Monday holiday, there were plenty of brave West Siders who donned their Halloween best last night, taking to the streets in costume after a weekend full of festive activity and sugar-fueled fun.

First up were the families taking tots out for trick or treat along 9th Avenue. One popular venue: Cybert’s Tires, whose spook-tacular display was first revealed by W42ST earlier in October, and whose special late hours were a draw for all sorts of costumed candy-seekers.

Later, hearty partiers not yet done after the weekend’s parades and costume contests strolled the West Side. In Times Square, crowds gathered looking for elaborate ensembles, though most of the costumed characters were the usual Elmo and Cookie Monster crew.

And as rain broke out, most revelers ducked into a nearby bar or scurried under scaffolding to evade the weather!
