Their drone view of the unfolding five-alarm fire shows the firefighters working with hoses from the rooftop swimming pool area of luxury building 555TEN across the road from the crane at 550 10th Avenue.

“What was it like responding to yesterday’s crane fire and collapse?” the FDNY said on Twitter, when sharing the video footage from Robotics Unit drones.

They explained that “the drones were an integral part of an operation that had the FDNY putting out the fire, evacuating tenants, and assessing structural damage.”

Last night (Thursday), 10th Avenue reopened to traffic and nearby residents at The Victory and 555TEN could again enter their buildings through the front door. As per our update yesterday afternoon, YOTEL remains closed and Covenant House is expected to reopen for the 100+ young residents later today. Signature Theatre is still temporarily closed.

  1. Is the M11 bus running on 10th Ave again? It’s Friday. Yesterday I noticed the bus stop sign was removed from 42nd ST and 10th Avenue uptown bus.
