NYPD and FDNY rushed to the Hudson River today to pull a man from the water. At 9am there was an emergency response to reports of a man clinging on to the dock at the Manhattan Community Boathouse at Pier 96.
It’s not known how the man got into the water near W56th Street and the West Side Highway, but he was pulled out by a medic from St Luke’s Hospital who was first on the scene. The man appeared to be wearing running gear and still had a mask under his chin.
He was helped to his feet by rescuers and appeared to be fully conscious. Medics moved him off the landing dock to the main pier before he was taken in an ambulance to hospital.
Earlier this week, a body was pulled from the river at Pier 84. The New York Post reported that local man 31-year-old Shuvro Biswas drowned in the Hudson River on Monday.
