It’s hard to resist a tasty sandwich filled with farm-to-table ingredients, artisanal flair and international flavors. Even more so when it’s free — and comes with the chance of winning a helicopter ride!

Lines at the Upper East Side store during their August free sandwich giveaway.

Innovative eatery, Coddiwomple, opens on 9th Avenue this weekend (October 9/10) and is tempting Hell’s Kitchen neighbors in with free sandwiches on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 8pm, until stocks last.

The company, founded in Williamsburg — and trading since 2013 as The Sandwich Shop, pulled a similar stunt when they opened their first Manhattan location on the Upper East Side in August. Sandwich lovers formed lines and waited for up to 30 minutes to grab and go.

As they court the west side’s food lovers, Coddiwomple have created a sweepstake for anyone who picks up a sandwich, follows their Instagram page or posts pictures of sandwiches to win a free Fly Blade ride to JFK. The promotion touts their credentials as a “travel by sandwich” operation, as their menu of sandwiches, wraps, salads and rice bowls is heavy on world-class flavors.

If you are wondering what Coddiwomple means, the Urban Dictionary defines it as “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination.” Well, this destination is not vague — it’s at 786 9th Avenue, on the west side of the street between W52nd/53rd Street, just next to Badshah. Go get a free sandwich and welcome them to the neighborhood.
